1st Annual American Hero Dinner Announced
The Cpl. Michael D. Anderson Jr. Memorial Foundation is proud to announce the 1st Annual American Hero Dinner fundraiser benefiting “Welcome Home Heroes” on Friday, May 11, 2012 and is coordinated with the following day’s 8th Annual Cpl. Michael D. Anderson, Jr. Memorial Ride on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
The American Hero Dinner will be held at the Central California ranch of Grand Prix racing legend Kenny Roberts, and will feature a number of additional motorcycling celebrities. Also in attendance will be representatives of America’s military elite including Sergeant Major Jon Cavaiani (U.S. Army, retired) who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for his valorous action in the Republic of Vietnam.
Guests will be provided transportation from Modesto to the Roberts Ranch, nestled among Central California’s beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills. They will enjoy personal conversation with Roberts, Sergeant Major Cavaiani, and other motorcycling and military luminaries. Guests will also be treated to an intimate tour of Robert’s personal on-site museum, and will culminate the experience by dining on Central California’s finest ranch barbeque.
Upon their return to Modesto, guests will have an opportunity to attend a special no-cover reception and screening of ‘On Any Sunday’ hosted by the Modesto Clarion Inn. Additionally, the Clarion has arranged for special group hotel rates for American Hero Dinner guests and for additional participants arriving for the following day’s memorial ride.
On the following day, Saturday, May 12, 2012, guests will have the opportunity to ride with Roberts and hundreds of marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen in the free and open-to-the-public 8th Annual Cpl. Michael D. Anderson, Jr. Memorial Ride. From its start in Modesto to its destination in the historic mining community of Jamestown, the memorial ride will be escorted by motorcycle units from the Modesto Police Department, the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department, and the California Highway Patrol, ensuring a safe and uninterrupted run through Central California’s spectacular Mother Lode foothills.
The evening reception at the Modesto Clarion Inn and following day’s memorial ride are free and open to the public. Due to extremely limited seating availability, those interested in attending the American Hero Dinner fundraiser at the Roberts Ranch are encouraged to email their inquiry to general-info@trueamericanhero.org or call (209) 404-3928.
